ABOUT EMILY

Hi I'm Emily and I'm delighted to share my work with you!

Photography has been a passion of mine ever since I was about 12, on my first family holiday to the beautiful Lake District. Being in awe of the imposing mountains,  I made it my mission to capture the epic scenery on my piddly little camera and was thrilled when dad taught me how to stitch panoramas together on the computer. Back then, Angle Tarn above Ullswater was my favourite subject and I still visit it often.

Whilst landscapes will always be a passion, but since starting my job as a violinist in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, I have discovered the joy of capturing my unsuspecting colleagues in their natural habitat, whether at home at Liverpool’s much loved Philharmonic hall or further a field, speeding through the Japanese countryside on a bullet train whilst on tour with the orchestra. I’m very lucky in that my ‘day job’ allows unprecedented access to not only world renowned artists but world class venues across the globe. I’m in the unique position to capture fleeting moments from my side of the stage that few are able to witness.

Away from the Philharmonic, I understand the necessity to be discreet when photographing concerts and special events from weddings and beyond in order to capture the true essence of every occasion.
